Introduction Set in modern day society, Dark Intentions supports all manner of creatures. During the day, humans wonder about the streets and go about their business. Some harbour secrets and some are just your ordinary walking talking prey… Come the night of the full moon, things howl in the night. The secrets emerge and certain humans, subject to the scratch and contamination of a were-animal change to their half man, half animal form and crusade through the darkness to hunt with their instincts raging and all human thought evading them. Human, deer, life stock all fall prey to the Weres, flesh eaten and bones cracked. Ordinary Joe turned savage beast. There is worse to come. In the deepest of shadows lurk the demons, the vampires. Pointed fangs and a taste for blood, they stalk the darkness and take what they need from the humans and give nothing back. Some relentless killers, others simple accidents that can’t be undone. Some will kill you where you stand but if you are lucky, another may only takes what is needed and leave, back to the darkness from which they came. Be careful, for the night is full of surprises and even in the daylight you cannot escape. Dark Intentions suffocate the darkness. Can you survive? Will you be the hunter or the prey? There’s only one way to find out…

Rules OOC: • No fighting, flaming, spamming or other posts of rubbish. • No impersonating or hate-groups. • No ignoring the rules, warnings will be given to rule-breakers. • One account per member. • There is no limit on how many characters per account, but be sensible. • Host your picture on your own hosts, no direct linking. • Keep your character profiles updated.
IC: • No txt tlk or RP slang. Real English will do, thanks. • No posting in outrageous colours or small fonts, some of us don’t like to squint. • When fighting, make sure the other player agrees what damage happens to their character. Put “Cheese” in the “Other” section of your character profile. • If either player is fighting unfairly, a moderator will decide the damage of either character to each other. • Hunting a NPC (non-player character) is fine, you do not need permission from a moderator to do so. • Marking a thread with *SCO* in the title means only the characters you list OOC in the first post are allowed to join the thread. • Humans can heal at the hospital, but vampires, Weres and immortals have to look after themselves. • Pets/transportation is allowed; just list them in the “Possessions” section of the characters join form. • Use common sense, no stupid names, appearances etc.

Humans We all know about humans, but here’s a quick rundown. Weaknesses: • Poor sense of hearing, sight, smell. • Lacking physical strength and healing powers. • Tasty. Strengths: • No lunar ties. • Can tolerate daylight, holy items, silver. • Lots of them. Can die via: • Pretty much anything…

Vampires Yay, vampires. There are lots of different versions, but here’s DI’s version. Weaknesses: • Silver • Holy items • Sun • Thresholds (can’t enter inhabited building uninvited) Strengths: • Superior hearing, night vision, scent. • Each individual has a power, detailed below. • Incredible healing powers, directly proportional to the amount of blood intake. Can die via: • Beheading • Exposure to sun/fire • Stake/wooden object through heart All vampires must consume blood, maybe a pint or two a day or one whole human a week. Vampires who kill generally have a rather nasty personality. Were and Immortal blood has more power than human blood, although Immortal blood doesn’t taste that nice, and Were blood is sort of warm and spicy. Put “is” as the next word in the “Other” section of your character profile. Vampires cannot die of blood-loss or blood-deprivation but it makes them much weaker and prone to insanity. Silver also cannot kill them but it burns, and makes wounds heal much slower, human slow, unless vast amounts of blood is consumed to help the healing process. Powers – Each vampire has a power, which you should name in brackets next to the “Race:” field on the character join form. Powers can be things such as, flight, speed, telepathy, telekinesis, empathy, mind control etc. The older the vampire, the more pronounced the power and the likelihood of having a second power. Siring – Vampires cannot conceive children, although the method to do so works just fine (as long as the male’s blood pressure is high enough… let’s not go there). However, Vamps can “sire” children, with the whole, “I bite you, you bite me” method. To turn a human (Weres and Immortals cannot be turned into Vampires), the vampire must drain most of its blood into his/her self then offer his/her blood to the human in return. The human can resist and choose death over vampirism, but that’s up to the player of the human. It takes three nights for the child to rise, and it needs to be taught how to hunt and feed. The child’s power does not necessarily become that of its sire, and it develops after a few months of nourishment, longer if the intake of blood is not enough.

Weres Were-animals are even more diverse than vampires in their folklore, here’s DI’s version of the terminally fluffy. Weaknesses: • Full moon • Silver • Animal instincts Strengths: • Improved physical strength in both forms. • Traits of their animal, speed, agility etc. • Animal instincts, better healing powers. Can die via: • Pretty much anything in excess. • Silver-inflicted wounds, silver bullets etc. Weres can live like humans most of the time, the only difference is their core temperature is slightly higher and they tend to eat a lot more. They have to change into their animal at the full moon, and stay that way for the rest of the night. They can change into their animal outside of the full moon but it takes a lot more effort. You can get almost were-anything, werewolf, weretiger, wererat. Just define which type your character is in brackets next to the “Race:” field in the character profile form. Shifting – Painful business, all the bones and muscles need to rearrange, etc. It hurts, basically. Clothes hardly ever survive being changed in, and Weres usually were something they don’t mind messing up the night of the full moon. Once a Were has Shifted, they look like their were-animal with the exception of being much larger and much more powerful. Some more experienced Weres can take on a half-human half-animal form, the proverbial wolf-man, as it were. Changing – Weres, like Vamps, can’t conceive children, although a male Were could sire a child to a human female. It wouldn’t inherit the condition. To create a new Were, a human has to be bitten. Simple really. Sometimes the bite doesn’t work, so it’s just painful. Vampires and Immortals can’t be Changed, so it just hurts if they get bitten. New Weres become the same were-animal as the one that bit them. They tend to be really confused at the first full moon, and don’t remember a lot.

Immortals Immortals are a classification that DI gives to a set of races that share a few things in common. We group them up, seeing as the population of the races is much smaller than the Vampires, Weres and Humans. They all stop aging between 20-30 years of age, and will continue to exist until they are killed. Put “good” as the next word in the “Other” section of your character profile. Each Immortal has a specific (or not so specific) way it has to be killed, and the rarer the Immortal, the harder it is to kill. Here’s a list of the Immortals you’re likely to find at DI: • Pyro • Wingers • Shapeshifters • Telekenetics • Demons Some of these are genetically inhanced humans, others are totally separate species from humans, and are generated by the fabric of life itself. Pyros – Firestarters, humans with the ability to create and manipulate fire. They are not particularly rare, and can be killed by drowning or prolonged exposure to large bodies of water. Rain isn’t that much of a problem, it tends to evaporate on contact. Like Weres, Pyros have a very high core body temperature, and can cause burns just by touching another person when angry. They are resistant to burns and heat. Often mistaken for demons, Pyros are often hated by most religions. Wingers – Think angels, although not all wingers are all halos and clouds. They’re not religious beings, rather humans with wings. Some just exist, others are humans that grow wings for some reason. To kill them, just chop off the wings and they’re mortal. Then you can do what you like to them to kill them. Shapeshifters – Not Weres! Shapeshifters are humans or entities born with the talent to turn into any animate object they like, however big or small. Inanimate objects are a no-go, Shifters can’t turn into tables and such. Unlike Weres, Shifters are not tied by the moon’s cycle and they are regular-sized once shifted. Again, unlike Weres, Shifters do not have inhuman strength or healing abilities, and you can kill them like you can kill any human, if you can catch them… Telekenetics – Humans with the ability to move things with their mind. The more powerful ones can even move live things. Kill them like you’d kill any mortal, just make sure they don’t know what you’re up to. Demons – Always beings of random creation, never born human. They can appear any way they like, though most choose a human appearance. Each Demon has a certain power, but they can only exist on the mortal world if someone summons it. Demons are crafty, they’re the “trade a service for your soul” type. There are lesser Demons and higher Demons, though the higher Demons tend to stay in their own plain of existence, the lower Demons are the trouble makers. Each Demon has a weakness that will banish them back to their own plain of existence if it is found by a mortal. Always specify the power and the weakness of your Demon in your character profile.
