New Day, new shift... « Thread Started on Dec 5, 2005, 6:16pm »
Mike made it, just on time. He wouldn't of if he had a human's stamina. He was just fishing his name tag out of his locker when the manager approached him from behind. He turned, surprising the man. Mike just blinked, waiting for what he had to say. The neat man recomposed himself, "Micheal, Zoe has taken maternity leave so I'd like you to take some of her shifts." Mike nodded, "Which days?" "Afternoon Mondays, double shift on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and morning on Thursdays. Take your time deciding, its--" "Sure." Mike had thought it over, he got paid more here than at the Mall, and the afternoon shifts all finished before 4 so he wouldn't have to worry about missing shifts for the full moon. "Ah, right. Okay then, and if it's not too much trouble, I'd like you to take the kitchen manager position on your Tuesday and Wednesday shifts." Mike blinked, slightly surprised. "Sure, that's no problem." The manager smiled, obviously pleased. "Good. Right then, sorry to keep you." He shook Mike's hand, surprised by its warmth. Mike gave him a smile to match and the manager headed back to his office. Mike kept the smile as he headed out into the kitchen, grabbing a hairnet before starting on the day's work.

By the time he'd finished, it was almost dark. Changing quickly, he glanced at his phone on the way out the door. One message, Leanne. Mike smiled, paused to read it then headed to her apartment.
